About Us: We’re GEEIQ (pronounced ‘Geek’). Our platform helps brands measure and activate revenue opportunities in metaverse environments. Located in London, we are a ~40-person team focused on collaboration and innovation.

Your Focus

As a Senior DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineer, you will lead reliability, scalability, and security across the platform. You will tackle infrastructure challenges, scale Kubernetes clusters, mature observability, and refine deployment pipelines. You will mentor the existing DevOps engineer and drive the platform’s technical direction to empower software engineers to ship securely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role solving complex operational problems and building for our next growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform & Infrastructure Management: Own and evolve AWS infrastructure for scalability, cost-effectiveness, and security. Lead Terraform IaC standards. Manage and scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and microservices. Administer core data services (RDS, Elasticsearch, MongoDB) with a focus on performance, backups, and resilience.
  • CI/CD & Developer Experience: Re-architect and refine CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions to be faster, reliable, and secure. Build tools and automate workflows to improve developer productivity.
  • Observability & Reliability (SRE): Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus, and AWS services. Improve incident response, contribute to on-call rotations, and promote blameless post-mortems.
  • Security & Governance: Drive security best practices, contribute toward SOC2 compliance, implement IAM, network security, vulnerability scanning, and secrets management.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering with production cloud environments.
  • Deep AWS expertise (EKS, RDS, Lambda, EC2, S3, IAM, VPC).
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Extensive Kubernetes production experience (cluster management, scaling, security).
  • Strong track record in designing and improving CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions.
  • Experience building and improving observability stacks (monitoring, logging, tracing).
  • Security controls experience and familiarity with SOC2 (a major plus).
  • Ability to mentor and collaborate with engineers.

Technical Skills

  • Cloud: AWS (EKS, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
  • IaC: Terraform (Expert)
  • Containerisation: Kubernetes, Docker
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions
  • Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry
  • Scripting: Python, Go, or Bash (JS/TS is a plus)
  • Data Services: RDS (Postgres/MySQL), MongoDB, Elasticsearch knowledge
