Overview

A long-standing client of ours is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary design team based in the South West of England. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the development of custom integrated circuits and MEMS solutions, supporting projects from early-stage specification through to qualified silicon.

This is a key position within a collaborative and technically driven team, ideally suited to a Digital Design Engineer with a strong foundation in RTL design, verification, and hands-on development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and verify digital blocks as part of integrated circuit projects, including specification, architecture, RTL coding, and documentation.
  • Support system-level modelling and simulation alongside architectural development.
  • Adhere to internal design processes and maintain clear technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to lab-based evaluation of designs, including supporting hardware and software development where needed.
  • Provide assistance with activities across qualification, failure analysis, and production test development.

Experience and Profile

  • Degree in Electronics, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Solid experience across the digital IC design flow, from RTL through verification to evaluation.
  • Strong skills in RTL design, logic synthesis, and verification methodologies (SystemVerilog/UVM desirable).
  • Familiarity with block-level physical design techniques is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, and MATLAB.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux-based development environment and using standard EDA tools.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment, managing priorities across multiple tasks.
  • Committed to ongoing technical development and continuous improvement.
