OverviewAmentum is recruiting for a Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join our Energy business in the UK. The role supports projects across nuclear, renewable energy, and high-energy industrial sectors, with opportunities to develop your career within a collaborative and diverse team.ResponsibilitiesLead the development of EC&I designs and solutions across the full project lifecycle from bid generation, concept, and detailed design to installation and commissioningPrepare technical documentation, specifications, and design justifications for safety-critical systemsWork on systems integration, testing and validation of PLC, SCADA and simulator systemsSupport requirements capture and systems engineering approaches for new architecturesDemonstrate knowledge of practical engineering implementation and compliance with standards and regulatory requirementsManage and check deliverables from junior engineers to ensure quality and complianceProvide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineersInterface with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders on technical mattersEnsure designs meet nuclear safety, cybersecurity, and quality standardsSupport project planning, cost estimating, and risk management activitiesProduce high-quality technical reportsBuild and maintain valuable relationships with clients, partners and peersQualificationsMEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or a related disciplineChartered or near Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body (support available)Awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components, or relevant principles from highly regulated industriesKnowledge of EC&I principles, design tools and standards (e.g., BS, IEC, IEEE; IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226; ONR SAPs/TAGS)Experience in the systematic design lifecycle of EC&I or I&C systemsAbility to simplify complex problems and excellent communication skillsKnowledge of high-integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipmentExperience producing and checking high-quality technical deliverablesMotivated team player able to work to deadlines and communicate progressCommitment to Continuous Professional DevelopmentEmployment detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Engineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: Defense and Space ManufacturingAmentum is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
