The Role As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for producing design studies and manufacturing designs across a variety of projects. Working closely with Project and Integration Managers, you'll ensure EC&I systems are safe, maintainable, and meet project objectives on time and on budget. Key Responsibilities:
Develop EC&I design concepts including SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules, and layouts. Design systems in accordance with British and European standards, client specifications, and functional safety requirements (BS EN 61508 & 61511). Produce comprehensive design documentation, including Functional Design Specifications, SIDD, Technical Reports, and Commissioning documentation (FAT/SAT). Manage subcontract suppliers and coordinate design approvals. Witness commissioning activities on-site, ensuring operability, maintainability, and safety considerations are fully addressed. Design safety interlocks and low-voltage control systems; experience in HVAC control systems is desirable. Author detailed technical reports and substantiation documents. Use AutoCAD to interpret and create EC&I engineering drawings. Ensure all designs are technically robust and mitigate identified risks. Technical Competencies:
Maintain and develop technical, professional, and engineering competence through continuous professional development. Understand complex project requirements and collaborate with in-house specialists and supply chain partners to deliver optimal solutions. Consolidate, collate, and present design and engineering documentation for client approval. Person Specification: Qualifications:
Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent demonstrable experience. IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (or equivalent).Experience & Knowledge:
Broad engineering experience in design and manufacturing. Electrical system design, low-voltage control gear, and control systems. EC&I design and commissioning experience.Skills & Abilities:
Competent user of MS Office. Strong technical report and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively in multi-discipline project teams. Why Join Us?
