Overview

Join to apply for the Senior EC&I Engineer role at Progressive. This is a Sheffield-based, permanent position focused on high-impact automation and control projects. The role requires technical leadership in electrical design and mentoring of junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electrical control systems and panels using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings that meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
• Take ownership of EC&I engineering aspects across multiple projects, managing timelines and technical deliverables, and ensuring integration with mechanical and software teams.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including functional design specs, test procedures, and risk assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with BS7671, low voltage directives, and internal QA standards.
• Act as a go-to expert for electrical design queries, supporting project engineers and providing technical guidance to ensure consistent quality.
• Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and foster a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience in EC&I engineering for automation and industrial systems.
• Strong proficiency with electrical design tools (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
• Knowledge of BS7671, low voltage directives, and related regulatory standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and cross-discipline collaboration (mechanical and software).
• Proven ability to produce clear technical documentation and risk assessments.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers is desirable.
