Senior EC&I Engineer – The Role:
As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation engineering solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle — from concept design to commissioning. The role focuses on ensuring technical excellence, consistent performance, and strict adherence to all health and safety standards.
Senior EC&I Engineer – Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the Lead EC&I Engineer and deliver EC&I design within single- and multi-discipline engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects
- Contribute across the full project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, for both greenfield and brownfield applications
- Support projects across major sectors including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Petrochemicals
- Complete EC&I engineering and design in accordance with the defined project scope
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of EC&I design deliverables
- Assist the Lead Engineer in delivering designs on time and within budget, including managing change control
- Coordinate EC&I engineering with other disciplines (Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Process, and Automation) to ensure integrated project delivery
- Participate in internal and external design reviews, presenting designs to the Lead Engineer
- Act as the EC&I Engineer on a single project or manage multiple projects simultaneously, depending on size and complexity
Senior EC&I Engineer – You:
- 3+ years of experience as an EC&I Engineer in single- or multi-discipline projects within an Engineering, EPCM, or EPC company in oil & gas, nuclear, or similar sectors
- Strong knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with a solid understanding of other engineering disciplines
- In-depth understanding of both Electrical and Instrumentation, with the capability to lead designs in both areas
- Degree qualified (MEng, MSc, BSc, or BEng) in EC&I Engineering
- Good knowledge of current British and International Standards
- Security Clearance (SC)
- Results-oriented, with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs that meet Lead Engineer approval and satisfy client expectations
- Experience inspecting complex control systems, engaging with engineering teams on-site, and conducting root cause investigations after major incidents to prevent recurrence
