OverviewSenior Electrical Design Engineer (H/F) - SAFRAN SEATS GB LIMITED role at AEROCONTACT. Safran is a multinational high-tech group operating in aerospace, space and defense. Safran Seats is a leading manufacturer of aircraft seats for crew and passengers. This position is based in the UK (Cwmbran, Brackley or Newport areas) as part of the Electrical Design Department in the UK operation, and is responsible for the management of teams producing electrical installation models and detail drawings for new product and platform designs, and for checking and approving electrical design work to meet company, regulatory and customer requirements.ResponsibilitiesManage electrical engineering platform teams and ensure standards and performances are achieved by the design team.Supervise and coordinate design activities; manage daily attendance and holidays for the engineering team including absence management.Assist in recruitment of team members as required; carry out professional development reviews and ensure KPI targets are achieved.Manage and deliver electrical systems programmes per agreed schedules and budgets; be responsible for Electrical submittals.Coordinate with regulatory agencies (EASA, FAA, Boeing and Airbus) to certify electrical systems installed in their aircraft.Check/approve systems drawings and documents to ensure compliance with OEM and regulatory requirements.Produce/update electrical standards and process documentation; liaise with electrical equipment manufacturers to finalise equipment installation specifications.Report to senior management on the status of programmes; communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and OEMs.Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process; select and apply materials and processes appropriate to each design element.Qualifications and experienceIdeally qualified to a minimum of a degree in Electrical Engineering. Alternatively, a HNC / HND or equivalent qualification as part of an Electrical Apprenticeship.Experience using project management tools.Proven experience supervising an Electrical Design team (desirable).Experience using 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software (or equivalent).Experience with Product Life Management (PLM) systems (desirable).Understanding of tolerances and working knowledge of manufacturing processes and OEM installation requirements (essential).Experience reading design drawings and specifications (essential).Experience working with Boeing and Airbus specifications for electrical equipment installation (desirable).Working knowledge of construction and test methods for electrical and electronic components (desirable).No candidate will meet every single qualification; demonstrated value and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.Additional informationRole subject to pre-employment checks, including criminal record checks.
