Senior Electrical Design Engineer\n\nNewcastle Upon Tyne\n\n£40,000-£60,000 per year (DOE)\n\nJackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a well-established M&E consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne, for the appointment of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their strong engineering team.\n\nWith a strong project portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and public sector infrastructure, this client delivers high-quality, bespoke electrical and mechanical design solutions across the full project lifecycle.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery of projects across the North East and beyond.\n\nSenior Electrical Engineer – Key Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Deliver detailed electrical designs, specifications, and reports using software such as Amtech, AutoCAD, and Dialux, in line with current UK standards and client expectations.\n\n * \n\n Oversee and manage electrical elements of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.\n\n * \n\n Conduct site surveys, inspections, and attend client/design team meetings as a key technical contact.\n\n * \n\n Work collaboratively with the mechanical team and wider disciplines to ensure fully coordinated M&E solutions.\n\n * \n\n Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers and technicians within the team.\n\n * \n\n Maintain a strong understanding of industry developments and regulatory changes to inform design decisions.\n\nSenior Electrical Engineer – Key Requirements\n\n * \n\n Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (BEng/MEng).\n\n * \n\n Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services consultancy, with a proven track record of delivering electrical designs in sectors such as education, healthcare, and commercial.\n\n * \n\n Experience with industry software tools including Amtech, AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, and ideally Revit MEP.\n\n * \n\n Familiarity with current building regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines.\n\n * \n\n Chartered or working toward Chartered status with the IET or CIBSE is highly desirable.\n\n * \n\n Strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a client-focused approach.\n\nThis is a permanent, office-based role with flexible working hours and long-term progression opportunities in a stable and reputable consultancy environment.\n\nIf you are interested in this opportunity, please apply now or contact Eleni Avgenaki at Jackson Hogg for a confidential conversation
