Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services)

RPS is currently seeking Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services) to join our offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.

About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors such as residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, data centres, and energy. We focus on balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability, leveraging digitalisation to enhance project delivery.

What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. Responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed design calculations and sketches
• Applying good technical engineering design knowledge
• Collaborating with Senior Engineers and Technicians
• Surveying, designing, specifying, and administering contracts
• Conducting site visits and inspections
• Utilising software for calculations and design
• Ensuring compliance with legislative and safety standards
• Producing drawings and specifications
• Specifying products and installation standards

For a Principal Electrical Engineer, additional duties involve assisting in project surveys, design, and business development activities.

Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, experience aligned with IET or CIBSE requirements, and proficiency in electrical design principles, software tools like Amtech and AutoCAD, and understanding of regulations such as BS7671 and Part L.
