Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services)

RPS is seeking Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services) to join our offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.

About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors including residential, logistics, retail, healthcare, education, and more, balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. We leverage digitalisation to enhance project delivery and stakeholder experience, supported by decades of multidisciplinary expertise.

What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in a reputable team. Responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed design calculations and sketches
• Applying good technical engineering knowledge
• Liaising with senior staff and technicians
• Participating in surveys, design, and project administration
• Conducting detailed electrical building services design for new and refurbishment projects
• Assisting in feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages
• Attending design meetings
• Inspecting electrical systems and ensuring compliance with legislation and safety standards
• Producing and reviewing CAD drawings
• Selecting and specifying products and standards

Who we’re looking for: Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience aligned with IET or CIBSE requirements, capable of designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design, and proficient in relevant software like Amtech and AutoCAD. Strong communication skills are essential.
