Senior Building Services Engineer
Location: Northfleet (flexible working available)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Building Services Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical or electrical engineer to take ownership of complex projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the delivery of sustainable, high-performance building solutions.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in managing the design and delivery of building services across a range of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, and residential. Working closely with clients, architects, and contractors, you’ll ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems are designed to meet performance, safety, and sustainability standards.
This is a hands-on role involving line management, technical oversight, and active participation in project development—from concept through to completion.
Recent Projects Include:
NHS Community Health Hub – Full M&E design for a ne
w-build outpatient facility, incorporating low-carbon technologies and enhanced ventilation systems.
Secondary School Expansion – Electrical and mechanical upgrades to support increased capacity, including LED lighting, BMS integration, and renewable energy systems.
Grade A Office Fit-Out – High-spec CAT B refurbishment with smart controls, energy modelling, and LEED-compliant design.
️ Mixed-Use Residential Scheme – Design of heating, cooling, and electrical infrastructure for a multi-block development with communal energy centre.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage mechanical/electrical design across multiple projects
*
Produce and review schematics, calculations, and coordinated drawings using AutoCAD/Revit
*
Ensure compliance with UK engineering standards, CDM regulations, and internal QA procedures
*
Liaise with clients and design teams to resolve technical queries and maintain project momentum
*
Monitor budgets, identify opportunities for additional fees, and support business development
*
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in building services design (mechanical or electrical)
*
Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with relevant software tools
*
Excellent communication and leadership skills
*
Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination
*
Full UK driving licence
*
Willingness to relocate if required
