About the role We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Bristol office. It's an exciting time to join our Bristol team. We have a well-established reputation for delivering outstanding design on built environment projects throughout Bristol, the Southwest and further afield. We have a long-standing history in the city, having worked on many of it’s landmark sites. As our second-largest office, Bristol is home to more than 100 MEP engineers, and a growing range of specialist disciplines. As a Senior or Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities. A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members. In this key and varied role, you can expect to: Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across several building sectors. Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards. Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating/translating the brief within the project team. Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered. Mentor and support our ‘next-gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates. About you To be successful in this role you’ll need: Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects. Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux. Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors / architects in a design-oriented / consultant role. Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
