Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the reliability, compliance, and performance of all electrical systems across our clients site. This is a senior management role, offering accountability for electrical engineering strategy, budget ownership, and the leadership of a small engineering team.
With reliability and sustainability at the heart of every task, you will drive plant availability, oversee long-term planning, and support key business initiatives including decarbonisation and continuous improvement. You will act as the department figurehead, providing technical expertise, strong decision-making, and clear direction to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of the engineering budget, including planning, cost control, and reporting.
Leadership of reliability initiatives, ensuring RCA and FMEA processes are carried out effectively, with actions tracked and delivered.
Oversight of the CMMS system and reporting, ensuring compliance and adherence to maintenance standards.
Responsibility for long-term planning and CAPEX projects, from development through to delivery.
Electrical compliance management, including scheduling, remedial works, and weekly progress tracking.
Driving and overseeing improvement works, continuous improvement projects, and sustainability initiatives.
Tracking and reporting of OEE data (ME, BP, CV, Downtime), with a focus on maintaining and improving plant availability.
Line management, coaching, and development of the engineering team, fostering engagement and accountability.
Providing technical support across automation, controls, and wider engineering functions.
Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need:
Proven experience in a senior electrical engineering position within a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical expertise in PLCs, automation, networking, SCADA, AC drive systems, and material handling systems.
Demonstrable experience in reliability-focused engineering, including preventative maintenance, RCA, and FMEA.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Experience of budget ownership, long-term planning, and CAPEX management.
An organised, proactive, and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability.
