An industry-leading engineering solutions provider, specialising in automated systems for industrial gas, medical gas, and clean energy sectors, is seeking a Senior EI&C Engineer to join their growing team. Known for delivering turnkey engineered solutions, including process skids, control systems, and automated filling systems, this company supports a global client base with a focus on safety, reliability, and innovation.
This is a hands-on role, offering the opportunity to be involved in projects from initial design through to site commissioning and handover.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading and supporting the design, development, and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. This position involves close collaboration with multi-discipline teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of complex automated systems.
Location: UK-based, with occasional international travel for site work and client visits
Employment Type: Full-time | Available as Permanent or Contract position
Key Responsibilities:
Lead EI&C design activities across full project lifecycle.
Develop and review wiring diagrams, I/O lists, functional design specifications (FDS), and loop diagrams.
Select and specify field instruments, valves, analyzers, and safety devices.
Design and configure PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Siemens TIA Portal or Ignition ).
Support FAT, SAT, and site commissioning activities.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, BS, EN, ATEX, SIL, DSEAR).
Collaborate with mechanical and process teams for system integration.
Mentor and support junior engineers within project teams.
Required Experience:
Solid background in industrial automation, process control, or gas systems.
Electrical system and control panel design experience.
Proficient with EPLAN and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition SCADA, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of functional safety (SIL), ATEX/DSEAR compliance.
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.
Degree in Electrical/Control Engineering (CEng status advantageous).
Willingness to travel internationally for site commissioning as needed.
