About The Role

We are supporting our client in their search for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their established engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of innovative design solutions and technical support across a diverse range of products. This role covers the full lifecycle from new product development and prototype design to maintaining and upgrading existing systems to meet evolving client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design input for new systems and products, while supporting the existing product range.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams such as sales, supply chain, and production to deliver optimal technical outcomes.
  • Create and maintain part numbers, bills of materials, and source components and materials as needed.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, including specifications, test procedures, assembly instructions, and technical reports.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company and industry standards.
  • Review and approve drawings and documentation produced by the engineering team.
  • When applicable, lead or mentor a small team, supporting their performance, development, and adherence to engineering standards.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in electronics design, including PCB schematic capture (e.g. Altium Designer).
  • Experience in PCB layout, either in-house or through collaboration with external partners.
  • Knowledge of circuit design for embedded systems (e.g. STM32 or similar).
  • Experience developing embedded software (e.g. STM IDE or comparable tools).
  • Understanding of EMC and Functional Safety design considerations.
  • Familiarity with CE marking and design standards such as IPC.
  • Competence in engineering design software/CAD and Product Lifecycle Management systems.
  • Experience working to marine or defence standards and class society rules (LR, DNV).
