Senior Engineer - Android Graphics Framework at Samsung Electronics. This is a full-time permanent role, with openness to considering a professional contractor for a long-term assignment.

What You'll Do

  • Optimising Real-Time Rendering Pipelines: Develop cutting-edge innovations to deliver class-leading performance.
  • Enhancing Android Graphics Stack: Implement features and extensions for SurfaceFlinger, SKIA, HWUI, and more.
  • Performance Optimisation: Analyze graphics workloads, identify bottlenecks, and optimise for both performance and power efficiency.
  • Middleware Development: Create optimal libraries based on graphics and compute APIs like Vulkan and OpenGL ES.
  • Device Evaluation: Bring up and evaluate new devices, collaborating with teams to define and implement next-gen UX requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Take ownership of significant project sections, translating complex requirements into detailed designs and implementations.

Who You Are

Required Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (industrial experience may substitute).
  • Expertise in computer graphics with middleware development experience (Vulkan preferred, OpenGL ES, OpenGL, or DirectX).
  • Deep understanding of graphics pipelines and modern mobile GPU architectures.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
  • Proven track record in real-time embedded software development for mobile devices.
  • Strong OS fundamentals (memory management, multithreading, user/kernel mode interaction).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with SKIA graphics library.
  • Image processing algorithms.
  • Familiarity with CPU/NPU hardware architectures.
  • Knowledge of ML and neural networks.
  • Hybrid Working Policy: 3 days onsite, 2 days working from home weekly
