Job Description We are seeking a Senior Engineer with extensive Asset planning experience to develop an integrated Asset Management Plan to ensure that Heathrow’s extensive asset base serves the needs of passengers while staying safe and secure for us all. You will recommend and prioritise asset interventions (opex or capex) based on an objective understanding of risk, costs, asset performance and condition. In addition, the post holder will coordinate the Asset Management Plan with other strategic objectives to maximise passenger experience and unlock efficiencies associated with procurement, asset delivery and operational planning when assets are renewed. Regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders will be essential to keep the Asset Management Plan up to date and maintain a high level of understanding of the proposals.
Your role will involve
- Develop an integrated Asset Management Plan based on the combined effect of asset system strategies, business objectives and a thorough “real-world” understanding of our asset risks.
- Lead the data collection, modelling and analysis to support all recommendations within the Asset Management Plan.
- Ensure that capital investment requests are underpinned by a robust and documented business case and follow approved business processes.
- Engage with Principal Engineers, operational teams and other stakeholders to ensure mitigation plans are in place for asset risks and any actual or potential costs are understood.
- Lead the asset management input for the development and evaluation of strategic options to achieve the most efficient route to the Heathrow Master Plan.
- Verify that the intended benefits of asset investment have been achieved once work is complete. Collect feedback from post project reviews to inform future asset decisions as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
These Skills Are Essential
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Good knowledge and experience of maintenance practices, methodologies and strategies.
- Knowledge and experience of the application of whole life cost principles to make asset management decisions.
- Knowledge and experience of the project lifecycle process.
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to use data to quantify risks and prioritise asset needs.
- Development of compelling business cases through the translation of data, technical knowledge and evaluation of options.
