This role is crucial in ensuring these structures are safe, well-maintained, and continuously improved through various projects. You will also provide expert technical advice, manage budgets, and oversee inspections and project delivery. Day-to-day of the role: Manage and maintain highway structures across the borough. Lead and supervise projects ranging from small repairs to multi-million-pound improvements. Oversee safety inspections and ensure compliance with national safety standards. Prepare and review technical documents, cost estimates, and reports for structural projects. Serve as project manager and/or principal designer under CDM regulations. Lead and support a team, including responsibility for training and performance management. Represent the service in professional meetings and partnerships.
