Overview Job Title Senior Engineer • Location London • Corporate Title Assistant Vice President You will play a key role in the transformation of Rates and Credit Fixed Income technology landscape. As part of our multi-year platform modernisation project, you will be responsible for building a suite of new, real-time, high-performance applications supporting various trading workflows. You will be involved in architecting solutions across the stack, encouraging best practices and working closely with Business stakeholders to build a maintainable, operationally efficient and scalable platform to last the next decade. Your key responsibilities
Develop a suite of modern, real-time, high-performance micro-services to support core rates and credit trading workflows Drive full-stack solution design - collaborate with front-end engineers to design and deliver end-to-end solutions Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows and rapidly deliver impactful features that improve business efficiency Champion engineering best practices - promote best practices in distributed systems architecture, testing, CI/CD and code quality. Participate in code reviews to ensure high engineering standards across the team Contribute to platform modernization and strategy - play an important role in the modernisation of the fixed income tech stack by influencing platform direction, and driving adoption of modern tooling and frameworks
Your skills and experience
Solid Core Java Skills - Good understanding of Java fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling and concurrency programming. Experience with reactive programming models is a plus. Good knowledge of React and TypeScript - experience of building complex, high-performance applications using modern front-end tooling (e.g. vite, nx, playwright) Distributed Systems and Event-Driven Architecture - Experience with microservice concepts and frameworks, including event-driven architectures, with a desire to build deeper expertise. Integration, API Development and Databases - Experience in designing, building and deploying RESTful and event-driven APIs, with foundational knowledge of SQL and relational database design, plus exposure to containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
