What you’ll do

  • Be part of a friendly, multi-disciplinary team that provides technical support and assurance for capital investment projects, evaluating technical risk, ensuring compliance with current standards and specifications, and sharing knowledge and best practice across the organisation.
  • Work closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, and the wider water industry to help shape solutions that benefit communities across Scotland.
  • Champion safety and standardisation in design by reviewing proposals that balance cost, carbon impact, safety, and risk. Contribute to the design library and help shape future engineering standards.
  • Support the development of new processes and technologies, while coaching and mentoring others, and pursuing professional development with CPD opportunities.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  • Qualification in BS 7671 - 18th Edition and experience in water and wastewater design and construction.
  • Familiarity with WIMES, design management, or ICA instrumentation, Control and Automation is a plus. Experience with load schedules, block cable diagrams, and single line diagrams is valued.
  • Methodical approach to problem-solving and risk management, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland preferred.

Salary and role details

  • This role will be a Grade 7 with a starting salary of £44,030 and a pay range to a maximum of £55,000, subject to performance-driven progression.
