The role involves developing EMC strategies, performing compatibility studies, and producing technical documentation in line with relevant standards and project requirements.
Benefits
We offer a competitive rewards package, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance cover, 28 days Annual Leave. You'll also have access to hybrid working where possible, and opportunities for personal and professional development.
Candidate requirements
- Solid technical knowledge of EMC principles as applied to railway systems, including traction power, rolling stock, signalling, telecoms, and infrastructure.
- Experience working closely with Principal Engineers, leading workstreams on complex projects, and supporting junior engineers and graduates.
- Ability to ensure designs mitigate risk, comply with safety and quality standards, and align with legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it.
- Proven experience in EMC engineering, ideally within the rail sector.
- Knowledge of BS EN 50121 series, EMC Directive, and other relevant standards.
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools for EMC (e.g., CDEGS, MATLAB, EM tools).
- Understanding of compatibility issues involving rail traction, signalling, and telecoms systems.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
We value diversity and are an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to building an inclusive environment where our people thrive. If you need support during your application, we will work with you to assist your journey with us.
