Our client operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure UK location. Typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

A Safety focused Senior Engineer, HSE is required to join the team at Basingstoke, UK. The main responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Production of project safety deliverables (HSE Plans, HSE Philosophy, ToR’s for Safety workshops, Scopes of Work (SoWs)).
  • Organising and attending safety workshops (ENVID, SIMOPS).
  • Attending safety workshops (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL).
  • Liaising with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Provide HSE guidance to project teams.
  • Provide HSE review of multidisciplinary documentation.
  • Evaluate tenderer documentations; prepare, discuss and close tenderer clarifications, prepare HSE score and technical bid evaluation report.
  • Oversight of specialist contractors to achieve project deadlines and required quality.
  • Act as part of the Safety and Environment team across projects, potentially acting as the Project Discipline Leader on individual project.
  • Advising projects on HSE regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ALARP demonstration.
  • Experience in procurement phase of projects.
  • Previous working experience on oil and gas / energy design projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to produce high quality deliverables on schedule.
  • Experience of UK legislation and permitting (Desirable).
  • Development of EBS SoW (Desirable).
  • Experience in attending safety workshops (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/ALARP/SIMOPS).
  • Experience in Technical Bid Evaluation.
  • Microsoft Office proficient.
  • Project Experience.
  • Relevant degree, e.g. BSc Chemical Engineering, Process Safety (Desirable).
