The UK operation is based in Basingstoke and is involved in the energy transition, from decarbonised solutions such as CCS to renewables and hydrogen. SmartWorking (Hybrid Working)

The client operates a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work up to 12 working days per month from home or a secure UK location. These days can be available even when personnel are on leave for part of the month, typically enabling around 60% remote work for those who wish to take advantage of it.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

A Senior Marine System Engineer is required as part of the Naval and Marine Operation Team in EniProgetti UK in Basingstoke. The role involves supporting Eni’s activities worldwide on various projects and providing technical support within the naval and marine operation department on the design and follow-on of new and ongoing projects with floating LNG and FPSO facilities.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Studying and defining the best technical solutions for Marine Systems.
  • Preparing technical specifications and functional requirements for marine systems in FPSO and FLNG, during Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and execution on FPSO/FLNG projects.
  • Monitoring, follow-on and reviewing FEED and EPC FLNG/FPSO projects and marine system equipment/P&IDs/PFDs.
  • Providing assistance during Technical Clarification meetings and projects HAZID/HAZOP.
  • Reviewing project documentation provided by Contractors/Shipyards.

Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills

  • Knowledge of Classification Society Rules, SOLAS, MARPOL as applicable to FPSO and FLNG; experience on FEED and EPC LNG projects; seagoing experience as second/chief engineer; experience with Oil Tankers/LNG Carriers.
  • Experience as a Classification Society surveyor or Tanker/LNG Ship Vetting engineer is an advantage.
  • Experience in active participation on project HAZID/HAZOP.
  • OPITO certification for offshore travel is preferable.
  • Skills in design of ships’ marine systems (e.g., slop and drain systems, bilge and ballast systems, Inert Gas, production distribution and venting, diesel and gas power generation and their auxiliaries, freshwater production, compressed air, oil and gas loading, storage, gas liquefaction and offtake systems, LNG tanks design and maintenance).
  • Experience in preparation and review of projects P&IDs/PFDs relevant to marine systems.
  • Degree in Naval Engineering with focus on Marine Systems.
  • Available for short business trips outside the UK.
