SmartWorking (Hybrid Working)

Our client offers a SmartWorking policy allowing personnel to work up to 12 days per month from home or a similar secure UK location. These days can be used even if personnel are on leave for part of the month, typically enabling around 60% remote work.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating a team of specialist engineers and/or external companies for pipeline system design, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely execution of engineering activities by internal and external teams.
  2. Performing analyses and calculations related to pipeline engineering for conceptual, FEED, or detailed design phases of onshore and offshore pipeline projects.
  3. Providing technical supervision and assistance during offshore pipeline installation onboard vessels.
  4. Preparing ITT documents and conducting bid technical evaluations.
  5. Ensuring pipeline system design and specifications meet project requirements, COMPANY standards, international standards (ISO 13623, DNV ST F101, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, etc.), local standards, and industry best practices.
  6. Ensuring accuracy of inputs for pipeline system cost and schedule estimates.
  7. Aligning with other disciplines including interfaces, process, flow assurance, materials & corrosion, operations, instrumentation, civil, electrical, subsea, construction, installation, and commissioning.
  8. Reviewing, commenting, and approving pipeline engineering and installation documents.
  9. Preparing key technical papers on critical issues.
  10. Participating in technical reviews at various project stages and related activities.
  11. Developing calculations for pipeline design and writing relevant reports, including mechanical calculations, stress analysis, buckling, spanning, expansion, crossing design, hot tapping, layability analyses, etc.
  12. Preparing MTOs and BoQs.
  13. Defining the scope of geophysical and geotechnical surveys.
  14. Monitoring and controlling design progress and schedule.

Candidate’s qualifications, professional experience, and skills required for the position

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. The candidate should have a proactive attitude in managing and solving complex design issues, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be willing to familiarize themselves with company standards. Cad/GIS training is required. An engineering degree is preferred but not essential.
