OverviewArup Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom — Senior Engineer - Roads & StreetsResponsibilitiesWorking within a multi-discipline team of engineers, technicians and other professionals to develop designs from concept to detailed design and construction, complying with standards.Integrating with associated designs from drainage, structures, geotechnical, environmental and other disciplines.Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks in accordance with programme and budget.Assigning and checking the project work of graduate engineers and technicians.Ensuring compliance with Arup standards as set out in the company’s quality procedures.Preparation of specifications, providing input to contract documents and supporting the delivery of designs through the construction process.Assist with management and procurement of surveys and other site activities including liaison with stakeholders and supervision of contractors.RequirementsDegree qualified in Civil Engineering or similar. Chartered professional status.Strong technical skills in the design of roads, streets, active travel and general civil engineering projects including experience in the documentation and delivery of projects at various stages.Experience of the current UK design standards and design interfaces (geotechnical, environmental, drainage, structures).Highly competent in using 3D highways modelling and design software such as Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer.Competent in using 2D drafting software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.Ability to prepare Departures and Relaxations from Standard and to prepare and check reports and collate specifications from all parties to the project and to collect data for progress and technical reports.Desirable ExperienceDesign of private developer led highway schemesTraffic signs and road markings designVehicle restraint system design and assessmentRoad safety auditsContract document preparationKnowledge of ProjectWise or other data environmentsHow to apply / ContactNot ready to apply yet, or have questions?
