What You’ll Be Doing
As Senior Engineer, you’ll be the technical cornerstone of multiple residential projects, guiding them from land acquisition through to completion on site. Your role will be varied, rewarding, and influential. Expect to:
Shape the early stages of projects by preparing feasibility studies, technical reports, and appraisals to inform land buying decisions. Drive technical excellence in site layouts, infrastructure design, drainage strategies, and road & sewer designs. Collaborate with experts by managing external consultants and working closely with local authorities, utility providers, and statutory bodies. Be the go-to problem solver for on-site teams, ensuring technical issues are resolved quickly and effectively. Champion quality and compliance by reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations. Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and setting the standard for best practice.
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for an experienced Engineer who’s ready to step up, take ownership, and influence real change within a growing business. The successful candidate will bring:
A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field. Chartered status, or clear progression towards it (ICE or IStructE ). Proven experience within residential housing, infrastructure, or land development. Strong technical knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities, and Section 38/104/278/185 agreements. Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS, and MicroDrainage. A collaborative mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel across Yorkshire and the North East.
