Salary: Grade H: £36,629 per annum (pro rata for part time hours) plus £3,993 pa Recruitment & Retention Allowance (pro-rata). Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week; flexible working can be discussed. Base: Sustrans office in Edinburgh or Glasgow with the flexibility to work from home. Travel: Regular travel within Scotland, may include overnight stays.

About The Role: You will join our team to work on projects tackling climate emergency responses, unequal distribution and access to green space, and the creation of equitable and enjoyable public space for all. You will be involved in design, delivery, and upkeep of active travel infrastructure in urban and rural environments, managing highway design for walking and cycling, traffic-free greenways, structures over and under roads, rivers and railways, and management of path construction and improvement projects.

About You

A skilled Engineer who can provide technical authority and lead, motivate and manage a team. You should be an excellent communicator, building relationships across diverse groups to identify new projects, prepare bids, and develop partnerships. Demonstrable experience in the full lifecycle of construction projects from conception to handover, including leading the production, review and approval of engineering drawings and technical reports, and delivering projects with resource allocation, risk management, and monitoring of programme and budget.
