What we are looking for

We are seeking an individual who can manage provision of comprehensive geospatial and data analysis at a national level, working closely within the Technical Authority’s Drainage and Lineside Asset Management team. You will liaise with internal and external customers and specialists to define and build innovative business solutions using advanced GIS analysis techniques to meet clients’ needs and inform decision making.

Essential experience includes strong GIS and data analysis capabilities, excellent communication, and a drive to improve asset data and decision-support tools. A willingness to develop further knowledge and expertise is expected. See the attached job description for full details.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice input and support for services delivered to customers and suppliers.
• Provide technical input to accident and incident investigations.
• Support the setting of Drainage and Lineside policy, standards, processes, and systems.
• Contribute to the development of standards, specifications, means of compliance, and KPIs for Asset Management, including system risks; support engineering analyses and risk assessments.
• Lead on delivering projects or a portfolio (e.g., Drainage and Lineside R&D) to time, cost, and quality.
• Proactively respond to changes in internal/external requirements impacting policy and standards.
• Identify opportunities for technical and business process improvement; develop business cases and investment papers as needed.
• Support assurance activities and represent Network Rail externally as required.
• Coordinate activity across Technical Authority disciplines and contribute to developing engineers within the practice.

Essential Criteria

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience (Level 6).
• Membership of a relevant technical body.
• Broad technical engineering experience.
• Project or financial planning and management experience.
