Senior Faade Engineer
We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and driven Senior Faade Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for leading and managing faade design projects across a range of sectors including education, stadia, transport, residential, and commercial. Projects typically run from concept design through to detailed design and construction monitoring. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day project delivery with minimal supervision, ensuring quality, budget, and programme requirements are met. You will liaise directly with clients and design teams, maintain strong professional relationships, and play a key role in mentoring junior engineers. Lead and coordinate faade engineering projects, ensuring delivery to the highest technical standards. Produce and review technical design information including drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports. Undertake and manage structural surveys, feasibility studies, and technical reports with clear findings and recommendations. Manage project finances and programmes on small to medium-sized projects. Collaborate effectively with clients, local authorities, architects, and consultants. Supervise and mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring high-quality outputs. Support bid preparation, proposals, and business development activities. Prepare design and progress reports for internal and client review. Oversee site investigation works, including managing sub-contractors and reviewing results. Attend and contribute to design and site meetings, recording and following up on key actions. Ensure compliance with industry standards, CDM regulations, and ISO 19650 processes. Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of practices and procedures. Key Skills & Experience
Essential
HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering. Strong understanding of faade physics and structural engineering principles. Proficiency in structural design for steel, aluminium, stainless steel, timber, and glass. Experience briefing and coordinating with CAD technicians. Track record of supervising and mentoring junior staff. Knowledge of British Standards/Eurocodes and CDM regulations. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and visual). Ability to work effectively within ISO 19650 environments. Desirable
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Chartered status (ICE or IStructE). Working knowledge of SCIA and Tekla Building Designer. Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability. Salary & Benefits
