Senior Field Service Engineer

Job Description

Field Service Engineering Supervisor - Machinery

Let’s be honest, some jobs in engineering are glorified fire-fighting.

This one’s different.

We’re looking for someone who can keep a cool head, get hands-on with some pretty complex kit, and keep a small team of engineers pointing in the right direction (without needing to shout about it).

You’ll be leading a crew who install, service, and repair automated weighing, packaging, and processing machinery, the stuff that keeps food factories running. It’s not just about turning a spanner; it’s about solving problems, keeping customers happy, and making sure your team is working safely and efficiently.

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Leading and supporting a team of field engineers across the UK.
  • Rolling up your sleeves to diagnose, repair, and install machinery.
  • Making customers feel like they’re in safe hands (because they are).
  • Keeping on top of compliance, safety, and paperwork (yes, the boring stuff matters too).
  • Travelling across the UK (with an annual trip to Europe for training).

What we’d like you to bring:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in engineering (minimum).
  • Hands-on experience with machinery - ideally in food manufacturing, but if you’ve got the right transferable skills, we’re listening.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.

The perks:

  • Salary up to £50,000.
  • Company van, fuel card, phone, laptop, tablet.
  • Overtime.
  • Pension and death-in-service cover.
  • 20 days annual leave + bank holidays.
  • Training in Europe (all expenses covered).

If you’re an engineer who’s got more to offer than just fixing kit, someone who can lead, support, and keep customers happy while still getting stuck in, then this role could be a great fit.
