Role: Senior Fire Safety Engineer
Salary: Circa £47k - £56k +benefits including
Location: County Durham (hybrid working after induction period)
Our client is one of the largest and most prestigious employers in the region, with a considerable infrastructure footprint across the County Durham area. They are now looking to appoint a talented senior fire safety engineer to advise and lead on fire risk related matters across their estate.
The Role: * Apply advanced fire engineering principles in the design and assessment of buildings across a large and diverse estate. * Technical delivery of fire safety services, design and drawing appraisals, ensuring compliance with BS9999, BS9991 or performance based fire engineering solutions. * Provision of expert advice on wide range of fire safety issues such as compartmentation, passive and active fire protection systems, occupancy levels, fire escape strategies, emergency lighting, alarms, suppression systems, firefighting equipment and specialist systems. * Assess fire safety arrangements for disabled occupants and visitors, fire appliance access and construction phase fire safety matters. * Product and review fire safety manuals, policy development, internal governance and ensure adherence and compliance to internal and external standards and regulatory frameworks. * You will also lead the fire safety team, providing strategic direction and operational oversight to a small team of professionals. The Person: * Candidates should be degree qualified in a relevant discipline, or possess significant equivalent experience in a similar role and environment and be working toward Chartered status. * MFireE or IFE level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design or equivalent qualification. * A professional practitioner with up-to-date fire safety law, building codes and best practice expertise to influence service delivery and practice within the organisation. * Experience in delivering specialist fire safety advice, guidance and oversight for complex estates. * Fire safety management systems oversight and audit leadership. * Implementation of fire safety policies and procedures. * Experience of fire modelling simulation, CAD, BIM AFP and PFP tools would be highly advantageous.
