Senior Front-End Engineer - React / Nx (Contract)

Location: Remote with occasional day on site

Contract Type: 9-12 months (with potential extension)

Start Date: October 2025

Rate: up to £500/day

We're looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer with expertise in React.js and strong experience with Nx monorepos to help design, build, and scale our clients modular product platform.

This is a web-first role, focused on building performant, scalable React.js applications within an Nx monorepo architecture. You'll also support React Native mobile apps, ensuring cross-platform consistency and enabling white-labelling capabilities. You'll be joining a high-performing engineering team working on a plug-and-play platform.

Key Outcomes

• Deliver and maintain a scalable Nx monorepo architecture for web.
• Drive the React.js web platform, ensuring performance and maintainability.
• Establish white-labelling workflows (branding, theming, config-driven setup).
• Ensure plug-and-play feature modules can be reused across apps.
• Improve developer experience: onboarding, codegen, CI/CD, automation.
• Ensure analytics, monitoring, and testing practices are embedded across projects.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong hands-on development experience in React.js, with ownership of large-scale web app
• Strong Nx monorepo experience (or similar tooling in production).
• Proficient in TypeScript and modern JS (ES6+).
• Proven track record of web performance optimisation.
• Strong testing discipline (Jest, React Testing Library, MSW).

Desirable:

• Experience with white-labelled SaaS platforms.
• Knowledge/experience of internationalisation.
• Mobile/web parity experience (React Native support).
