If you’re the kind of engineer who loves tackling complex hardware challenges and wants to build systems that will launch into space, then this might just be the perfect role for you!

Who will you be working for?

You’ll be joining an ambitious Edinburgh-based startup who are working on making world-class avionics equipment for NewSpace launch vehicles. Since their founding in 2023, they’ve experienced rapid growth, backed by strong investment and technical breakthroughs.

You will be joining the team at a critical inflection point, and will have the opportunity to contribute to hardware that will reach launch.

What will you be doing?

As their Senior Hardware Engineer, you’ll take ownership of circuit-level design for analogue, digital, and power systems. Your work will directly influence mission-critical avionics, and you’ll work closely with your colleagues to deliver robust, high-performance solutions. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing digital systems for computing and networking.
  • Developing precision A/D interfaces for signal conditioning.
  • Managing component selection and evaluating trade-offs.
  • Applying best practices for EMC/EMI compliance.
  • Supporting integration, testing, and qualification for flight hardware.

What you’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in hardware design for complex systems.
  • Competence in digital and analogue design principles.
  • Understanding of electrical design considerations (crosstalk, transients, failure modes).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Altium Designer and LTSPICE (or similar).
  • A degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years’ industry experience in electronics development.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Aerospace or high-reliability hardware experience.
  • Knowledge of qualification processes for flight hardware.

What’s in it for you?

  • A fantastic starting salary plus bonus and equity options.
  • Hybrid working for flexibility.
  • Opportunity for career progression as the team grows.
  • The chance to genuinely shape the future of space avionics.
