Overview
I’m partnered with a leading architecture practice in Farringdon who are looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Engineer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior technical role, acting as the main escalation point within a supportive IT services team.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for ensuring staff have a seamless and secure IT experience, taking ownership of escalations, resolving complex issues, and sharing your expertise with the wider team. Day to day, you’ll be involved in system monitoring, hardware and software support, user account management, and working closely with vendors to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd line support, acting as the escalation point for 1st and 2nd line queries across all UK office sites.
- Work with colleagues to diagnose and resolve issues, providing guidance and training where needed.
- Apply ITIL standards to user issues and tickets, ensuring clear documentation of fixes.
- Proactively monitor systems to spot and resolve issues before they escalate.
- Manage hardware repairs and replacements via third-party vendors.
- Build, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, iPads, and iPhones.
- Oversee account management and maintain the IT asset register.
About You
- 4+ years’ experience in a service desk or technical support role, ideally in a professional services or creative environment.
- ITIL Foundation certified, with strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and deep technical skillset.
- Hands-on experience with Intune imaging, deployment and application management (MAM and MDM).
- Solid knowledge of Windows and iOS monitoring, maintenance, and system updates.
- Experienced in Office 365 and Active Directory administration.
- Familiar with ITIL-based ticketing systems (Freshservice experience a plus).
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, AV, and networking concepts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a collaborative and flexible approach.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) sector would be an advantage, but not essential.
