Job title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Storage Technology) - TP&O Networks and Hosting

Salary: £68-73k - TFL Band 3

Location: Pier Walk, North Greenwich

Contract Type: FTC - 2 years

Join to apply for the Transport for London role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Storage Technology) in TP&O Networks and Hosting. This role supports an existing team of Storage Engineers and is focused on delivering storage infrastructure improvements and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of current in-flight project activities for a full refresh of the on-prem Storage Environment, including migration from existing to new refreshed hardware.
• Installation and configuration of new Storage hardware.
• Relocation of existing Storage hardware.
• Maintain service levels on current Storage technology.
• Support the refresh of the Storage platform to the new environment and ensure storage technical services are delivered using approved processes and tools.
• Use monitoring and reporting tools to identify and rectify operations outside normal state; ensure all hardware, software and service configuration elements are recorded correctly.
• Ensure all activities are fully compliant and aligned with TfL ITIL processes, security practices, and the scope of the supported estate.
• Contribute to the design and planning of technical changes; deliver and test infrastructure technologies.

Deliverables

• Support the refresh of the Storage platform to the new environment.
• Maintain storage services using approved processes and tools.
• Accurately document HW, SW and configuration elements; maintain monitoring and reporting.
• Deliver activities in compliance with TfL ITIL and security requirements.
• Contribute to design, testing and delivery of infrastructure changes.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure Technologies, System Security, and Acceptance Testing (operational, user, functionality).
• Understanding of relevant national and international legislation for Government/Public Sector IT (e.g., Data Protection Act, EU Procurement Directives, Freedom of Information Act).

Experience (Essential)

• Experience in a role reporting to managerial level, collaborating with Business Managers to enable service delivery benefits.
• Experience implementing, upgrading, migrating, maintaining and decommissioning storage technologies in enterprise environments.
• Experience providing storage technologies support out of hours.
• Extensive knowledge of enterprise storage technologies and their implementation in complex enterprise environments.

• Experience of Remedy and Change control processes
• Experience of DevOps boards
