Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our friendly and inclusive team. We are an established team responsible for supporting a large Windows Server infrastructure and mission critical applications across traditional datacentre and cloud platforms. We assist in maintaining our systems to the highest standards of security and efficiency and help develop the infrastructure of tomorrow. The team is responsible for the full spectrum of run and build activities so there are opportunities to excel in the area that best fits your personal skillset. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are supporting CBS in developing their digital presence so there is a huge scope for you to develop your skills for the next generation. This role requires you to be on-site in Coventry 1 day per week for collaboration with peers and other CIDO events.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic expertise as the Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert to ensure effective management of our infrastructure.
- Support a large Windows Server infrastructure and mission critical applications across on‑premises and cloud platforms.
- Participate in the full spectrum of run and build activities and help develop standards, governance, troubleshooting production issues, and documenting/building new systems.
- Collaborate on-site in Coventry 1 day per week for peer collaboration and CIDO events.
Qualifications
- Windows Server expert in several product versions.
- Demonstrable Active Directory knowledge to strategic design level.
- Expert understanding of Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
- Microsoft Exchange Server Administration experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Windows based applications.
- TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP(S), SMTP, SSH, Telnet, TLS/SSL, SNMP.
- Experience of working within an ITIL environment.
- You will show a flexible approach to working hours to meet own objectives and assist colleagues in meeting their objectives.
- You will ideally be used to working within an ITIL framework whilst showing the ability to work under pressure.
- Thoroughness is key, with good attention to detail and the ability to deliver to agreed timescales.
