It is a joint venture between Auto Trader and Cox Automotive, and is the UK’s largest online used vehicle wholesale marketplace. The platform serves manufacturers, fleet & leasing companies, franchise and independent retailers, and transacts hundreds of thousands of vehicles annually. What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for Senior Java Developers who are passionate about what they build and how they build it to join our team. You’ll work with product owners, data analysts, designers and other developers to improve and extend our auction platform for customers and internal users.

• Used to working in a Product team that is driven by data and focused on providing world class customer journeys.
• Capable of defining solutions and delivering software to meet significant platform features.
• Experience breaking down work into stories and tasks and delivering them with other team members.
• Building RESTful services using Java and Kotlin.
• Developing reactive frontend components in Angular.
• Practicing CI & CD using Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes Engine, with multiple production releases daily.
• Supporting the team with expected behaviours and taking on tasks from tech leads when needed.
• Mentoring junior developers and onboarding new team members.
• Collaborating within a cross functional team to shape technical solutions and direction.
• Continuously seeking improvements to technical and non-technical aspects of the team.
• Employing agile techniques in a fast-moving environment to deliver story-based features.
• Keen to learn and adapt to new industry trends in a fast-paced environment.
• Focused on delivering great experiences for end users of your applications.
• Maintaining a balance between delivery and technical elegance with a critical mindset.
• Experience developing server-side web applications in Java or Kotlin with TDD.
• Committed to working in an agile team.
• Experience of front-end development in Angular or React is desirable, but not essential.
