As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking “Markets Portfolio Management group”, you will serve as an experienced member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your responsibilities include developing critical technology solutions across various technical areas to support the firm’s business objectives.

The Markets Portfolio Management (MPM) group manages risks, costs, and size constraints of JPMC’s markets portfolio, supporting the strategic goals of our Markets franchise through coordinated pricing and resource management.

Job Responsibilities

• Be a business-facing senior team member, handling time-critical demands from Front-office/trading users.
• Mentor and supervise junior resources across regions.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms synchronously with systems.
• Develop architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
• Analyze large data sets to develop visualizations and reports for system improvement.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
• Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team.
• Engage with new PaaS technologies to enhance tooling for MPM users.
• Provide Level 3 support during critical regulatory reporting periods.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Python and Java programming languages.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large environments with modern languages and database querying.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, databases, and data warehouses.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies like CI/CD, resilience, and security.
• Understanding of software applications and technical processes in cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile, etc.
• Interest in industry trends, especially data management platforms.
• Experience with AWS and data warehouses is a plus.
• Previous support experience in Capital Markets lines of business.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Strong Python experience, especially in large trade or risk management platforms.
• Experience with AWS/S3 or similar services.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or other PaaS offerings.
• Knowledge of Treasury functions, including Balance Sheet, Liquidity, and Regulatory Capital, is a plus.
