Senior Machine Learning Engineer

New Today

Overview

Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Data team. This role is ideal for a senior independent doer who has owned the entire ML lifecycle and is ready to ship production-grade ML systems from scratch.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the end-to-end development of machine learning systems, from problem formulation and algorithm design through deployment and monitoring in production
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define KPIs, design data flows, and embed algorithms in product features
  • Apply best-in-class ML practices with clear problem framing, model evaluation, experimentation, and observability to deliver real-world impact
  • Independently lead the development of models across the platform, from data access and cleaning to modelling and integration
  • Work autonomously while contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in peer reviews, team rituals, and cross-functional discovery, sharing insights and offering help where needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Background: Master’s Degree or higher in a STEM subject with a significant statistics component
  • Full Lifecycle Ownership: at least 5 years of experience taking ML systems from idea to production in a commercial setting, independently from problem formulation to monitoring impact
  • Technical Proficiency: strong Python and ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, Pandas, LightGBM); working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data tools (Snowflake, DBT, Omni)
  • Structured Thinking: clear, repeatable processes for ML problems, including problem formulation, KPI definition, and experimental design
  • Rigour & Impact: demonstrated rigorous statistical and experimental thinking with measurable business outcomes
  • Collaboration: thrives in collaborative environments, communicates clearly, and supports team outcomes
  • Startup mindset: comfortable with fast pace and ambiguity, takes initiative to maintain momentum and deliver impact

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in smaller data teams with high ownership culture
  • Experience with B2B SaaS products
  • Experience with LLMs is a plus, but the role focuses on forecasting, optimisation, and statistical learning problems

What You’ll Get In Return

  • Competitive salary depending on experience, plus equity at our Series A valuation
  • 35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays)
  • Comprehensive private health insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave and baby loss support
  • Learning & development budget: €1000 personal annual budget + quarterly book budget
  • €250 home office workspace budget
  • Regular team offsites and socials
  • Remote working with co-working office space in London or Dublin
