Role: Senior Manufacturing Engineer - machining and fabrication

Location: Consett

Salary: Up to £50,000

Hours - Monday to Thursday (8.00am to 5.00pm) and Friday (8.00am to 1.00pm)

Holidays - 34 per annum inc BH

Pension - 3% employer, 5% employee

The basics:

We now require an additional Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the team due to expansion. The company have sites across the UK and EU and manufacture components for some well-known names within industry. This role will require an understanding of how components are made out of metal - techniques such as machining, fabrication, anodising and metal manipulation. You will create manufacturing route cards (SOPs and methods to manufacture) to ensure the best methods to manufacture whilst continually looking at improvements.

Responsibilities

• Create manufacturing route cards (SOPs and methods to manufacture) to ensure the best methods to manufacture while continually looking at improvements.
• Assess and improve machining and fabrication processes for metal components.

Qualifications

• Previous experience writing SOPs, methods of manufacture
• Knowledge of machining and fabrication of metal components
• Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
• Ability to read manufacturing drawings and specifications and break out the details and processes required for each operation required for manufacture
• Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word and Project
• Experience in streamlining and improving processes as a key aspect of the role

Commutable from Stanley, Consett, Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland and surrounding areas.
