Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction and delivery of new products into production. You will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Project Teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, efficient, and meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Responsibilities
- Review new product designs and advise on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Support prototype builds and resolve issues before full-scale production.
- Develop manufacturing plans, layouts, process maps, cycle times, and tooling requirements.
- Design and implement production lines, facility layouts, and capital expenditure proposals.
- Develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency.
- Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and line balancing.
- Create routings in ERP systems with process steps and standard times.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances through root cause analysis.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
- Estimate and monitor production costs, times, and staffing needs.
- Maintain clear work instructions and standardisation.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap, rework, and non-value-added activity.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Production Support to improve material flow.
- Research and implement best-practice manufacturing techniques.
- Comply with health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods.
- Experience with work measurement, standardisation, and ERP systems.
- Familiarity with CAD (3D and 2D).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, change control, and documentation.
- Team leadership experience (desirable).
- Flexible working arrangements (hybrid, part-time, compressed hours).
- Optional 9-day fortnight and flexible start/finish times.
- Early Friday finish.
