OverviewMechanical Design EngineerThe Mechanical Design Engineer will provide mechanical design and technical expertise to support project delivery across a variety of sectors including education (new build schools for the DfE), colleges, universities, high-rise residential, large-scale commercial projects, stadia, and healthcare. Working closely with the Project Team, Project Leader, and wider Design Team, the role ensures consistent production of technically sound and well-considered design solutions. The successful candidate will represent the company with professionalism and enthusiasm, maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence. Key responsibilitiesCollaborate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders, adhere to quality assurance processes, and support project timescales and resource planning. Lead by example, provide guidance and support to junior engineers, and drive the development of design aspects to achieve efficient and effective outcomes. Technical dutiesCarry out design calculations, produce drawings, reports, and specifications that clearly communicate system requirements, and utilise digital delivery resources to maintain quality and meet deadlines. Encourage continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team to enhance technical expertise and project delivery standards. ProjectsProjects typically span RIBA stages 0 to 6, covering planning, performance and tender packs, detailed and technical design, construction support, inspection and snagging, and handover phases.
