The role involves managing multiple medium-sized projects, engaging with clients in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects, including producing design packages for contractors on design and build contracts. The candidate will be responsible for running medium-sized projects.
The role includes a client-facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering services for mechanical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities.
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing medium-sized projects, including client engagement in development, design, and coordination of mechanical engineering services.
- Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
- Survey, test, and report on existing mechanical installations.
- Specify activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaise directly with clients, providing advice as needed.
- Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet industry and legal standards.
- Ensure technical content and accuracy in the work of Trainees, Graduates, and Engineers.
- Validate and check designs and specifications.
Role Requirements
- BEng, MSc, or equivalent experience; working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND with appropriate experience.
- Competent in specification, design, and drawing for various building types.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and standards such as BS standards.
- Proficient in MS Office and IT-based calculation software.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage workloads.
- Managerial skills and experience in consulting or construction sectors.
- Understanding of international business operations of a global consultancy.
- Act ethically, following the Group’s Ethics Charter and Guidelines.
