About the Role:

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the national MEP Division. Based in Manchester, this role involves providing design consultancy, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Management: Ownership of client relationships and defining the scope of works.
• Collaboration: Working closely with other engineers to ensure designs meet quality standards and regulations.
• Project Oversight: Managing the preparation of mechanical designs, specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Sustainable Solutions: Promoting sustainable design practices in all projects.
• Mentorship: Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
• Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with industry trends and identifying new techniques to enhance technical standards.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the industry with a strong understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry best practices.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling services, and the use of drafting software like Revit and AutoCAD.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Qualifications: Degree or Higher National Qualification in a Building Services related subject. Working towards Chartership is desirable.
