About the Role

Due to continued growth and exciting new projects, we’re looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic Engineering Team in Reading. They’re are a multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in innovative, sustainable, and efficient design. You’ll work alongside industry experts on projects spanning education, commercial, retail, industrial, leisure, and more. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of sectors and cultures, making every day unique.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering detailed mechanical designs as part of a collaborative project team
• Working closely with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors (both in-house and external)
• Attending project and technical meetings to ensure seamless project delivery
• Ensuring all designs and building systems comply with legislative and health & safety standards
• Advising clients and architects on energy efficiency and sustainability, helping to reduce environmental impact
• Designing site-specific equipment and overseeing the installation of building systems
• Specifying maintenance and operating procedures for building services
• Using specialist CAD and BIM (Revit) software to create innovative solutions

What We’re Looking For

• A degree (or higher qualification) in Building Services or a related discipline
• Significant experience in a similar mechanical design role
• Chartered status (or working towards it) with a relevant institution is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to clients and project teams
• Ambition, a willingness to learn, and strong organisational skills
• A passion for delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions
