OverviewOur client, based in the South Manchester/Cheshire area near Handforth, are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.The role is permanent and will pay a basic of up to £(phone number removed) per annum. The company is located in East Cheshire and commutable from Stockport, Handforth, Macclesfield and all areas of South Manchester.ResponsibilitiesLead design projects and review and approve all designs in conjunction with the Project Manager.Plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve.Carry out detailed designs of mechanical parts, pipework, assemblies and enclosures.Understand machining capabilities and fabrication processes from a design perspective.Work with different motion types, pneumatic systems, slide assemblies, ball screws and apply these to design principles.Contribute to continuous improvement and write/improve design-based documents to improve processes.Lead a small team of 2 other Design Engineers as a Lead Design role.Qualifications and ExperienceRecognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering; BEng or MEng.Very experienced in 3D SolidWorks, in a fast-paced packaging/FMCG manufacturing sector.Motion Control & detailed mechanical systems knowledge to assess feasibility of design options.Degree Qualified.Food Industry Experience – Beneficial.Robotics – Beneficial.SkillsMechanical design knowledge from a fast-paced manufacturing sector.Able to carry out designs for mechanical parts, assemblies and enclosures and understand related processes.Job InformationJob Title: Senior Mechanical Design EngineerCompany: Kinetic PLCLocation: Warrington, CheshirePosted: Sep 23rd 2025Closes: Oct 24th 2025Sector: ContractHours: Full TimeRole Type: PermanentAbout KineticKinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years of experience in delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.
