The company has been established for more than 20 years and provides bespoke materials handling and automation solutions to a wide range of clients and sectors across the UK.ResponsibilitiesUnderstanding client requirements and identifying solutions to meet those requirements, considering opportunities and challengesDeveloping key solution design criteria and metrics and associated material flow diagramsIdentifying technical and safety risks and proposing solutions to limit or eliminate themReviewing operational processes and KPIs and assessing business case justifications such as ROILiaising with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders to evolve solutionsPresenting clear and articulate concepts to clients and colleagues and helping influence the decision-making processDeveloping an understanding of WCS functionality and liaising with the in-house software design teamSupporting the design process by developing test specifications and other key contract documentsQualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity, the successful candidate will have proven experience in bespoke machine design, material handling and robotics. A mechanical engineering degree is advantageous but not essential. Ideally, you will have at least 5 years of experience within a material handling systems senior design environment, with strong proficiency in SolidWorks and the MS Office suite, and experience in logistics and supply chain solutions.Organisation & BenefitsLocation: East Midlands (commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Loughborough and Leicester).
