Senior Mechanical Engineer | Chelmsford | Space Engineering


A well-established engineering organisation is seeking a mechanical engineer to join its space engineering division. This role is ideal for a Mechanical engineer with 4+ years of experience looking to work on advanced mechanical systems for technology in a growing industry sector.


You’ll be working on advanced imaging systems, developing mechanical features for high-performance applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced mechanical systems for complex engineering systems involving imagery sensors.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, provide constructive feedback to improve designs.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems during the design phase
  • Support across testing of mechanical systems.


Experience needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experienced with CAD software
  • Experience with PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis
  • Ability to engineer systems for challenging environments involving heat, vibration and shock.
