Digitalisation is at the core of our delivery model allowing our clients and their stakeholders to really experience our designs right from project concept stage and through drawing on expertise spanning decades, industries and disciplines, we assist clients to harmonise design drivers through inspired engineering, architecture and development services.What you’ll be doingThis is an exciting role for an individual looking to progress their career as a Mechanical Engineer within our industry leading team where we have an excellent reputation, offering a wealth of expertise in all sectors of the built environment.Carry out detailed Mechanical Building Services Design Engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept and scheme design stages.Attend design team meetings alongside other staff members.Inspect and report on mechanical building services systems.Undertake Mechanical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings and specifications for projects.Work in conjunction with other design team members as required as part of an overall project team. Ensure the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements.Utilise Building Services software for calculations.Produce marked up drawings for CAD by others or direct CAD design drawings for issue.Select and specify products, equipment and installation standards relating to Mechanical services suitable for the costing and installation by Contractors.Attend project design meetings, technical meetings, value engineering workshops, and risk workshops as required by the project in conjunction.Who we’re looking forTo be successful in this role you will most likely have a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering and experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to either IMechE or CIBSE requirements.Experienced in designing principle mechanical systems taken from a concept level of design through to detailed design (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A) including: ventilation design, chilled water, comfort cooling design, domestic hot and cold water systems, heating systems, above ground drainage and HVAC control principles.Experienced in Hevacomp / IES or equivalent.Ability to view and interpret drawings in AutoCAD.Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.What’s in it for you?We’re an accredited training provider – from entry level to master’s degree level professional qualifications in leadership & management and executive coaching & mentoring, we support learning and development for everyone.A personal development plan and a transparent career pathway puts you in the driving seat of your career and you’ll be supported as far as you want to go.We understand the need to work flexibly, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard, we’re happy to talk about flexible working.
