Overview

Job Opportunity: Senior Building Services Engineer. Location: Northfleet (flexible working arrangements available). Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications. Reporting to: Technical Director / Associate Director / Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and line management within the mechanical/electrical team, ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects. Oversea drawing production—including schematics and engineering calculations—within agreed timescales, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Business Operations & Development: Foster strong relationships with industry contacts and promote the business when opportunities arise.
  • Business Operations & Development: Monitor project budgets and identify opportunities for additional fees.
  • Business Operations & Development: Manage team workload to meet project schedules.
  • Business Operations & Development: Support senior management by identifying risks and proposing solutions.
  • Business Operations & Development: Seek and propose new business opportunities, subject to line manager approval.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Review and refine design processes in collaboration with process owners.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Produce schematics, elevations, and technical details using AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Ensure all designs comply with UK engineering standards, CDM regulations, and internal quality procedures.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Perform and review engineering calculations.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Support project reviews and resolve technical issues to maintain timelines and quality.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Coordinate drawings with other disciplines, applying cross-functional engineering knowledge.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Stay up to date with relevant engineering and industry standards.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Communicate professionally with clients and external design team members during meetings and workshops.
  • Design & Technical Delivery: Respond accurately and promptly to technical queries, RFIs, and technical submittals in line with approved products.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in mechanical or electrical building services engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
  • Full UK driving licence.
